First Steps is a Suzuki Early Childhood Class designed to lay a foundation for lifelong learning by the Suzuki Association of the Americas. First Steps is a class for very young children that aims to develop musical ability early, expand vocabulary, creativity, and discipline, develop cooperation, trust, and patience.
The class follows a two week alternating curriculum which includes action rhymes, songs, instrument introduction, and interactive opportunities. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
Children finishing this program have a heightened sense of rhythm, pulse, pitch, increased fine motor skills and singing ability which makes the introduction of musical instruments and Suzuki music lessons natural and enticing.
